Endurance
I made two dozen kringla today. Kringla is a traditional Norwegian pastry that our family makes. It’s been a very long time since I’ve made any but I’m guessing it’s like swimming. Once you learn, you never forget. I’d say it’s like bicycling but I never learned to ride because I have horrible balance. I fell over just getting ON the bike.
But I digress. Traditional Kringla demands that you chill the batter over night. This afternoon was spent pulling chunks of dough out of the fridge and making small batches at a time. It needs to stay chilled because the batter itself is mostly comprised of butter and sugar. So there was a great deal of bending involved.
It’s been eight months and my endurance is still not exactly where it was. If I push myself too hard my back hurts. If I don’t push myself, I’m not going to get any better. It’s frustrating because i don’t know how hard is too hard. I can’t afford a personal trainer to help me understand my limits. I’ve just got to keep moving forward at the pace i am and hope for the best.

Eye To I
It’s been a while since my last post. There really isn’t anything new to report. The stabby pains are still intermittent. My back still feels like it has a layer of plastic on it because of the wide swath of scar tissue.
I’m thinking of trying to find a massage therapist that is able to release scar tissue. I’m just kind of afraid that it’s going to be painful. Pain isn’t something that I really want to deal with more of. That’s another reason I’m not having another surgery any time soon. Technically speaking I’m still recovering from the last surgery.
This weekend we visited a few craft fairs and holistic shows. My endurance level is really quite pathetic. I don’t go very far before I need to sit down. At least not as far as I THINK I should be going. Really I should have been able to do the entire Cocoa Village craft fair without having to stop as long as I did.
Eventually I’ll get back to my old self. I AM doing better. I just wish I didn’t wear down so fast.
